Hello, 28.

hi everyone!

Sorry to have been so quiet for a good amount of time. I attribute this to:

1) Super-busy work-home sched!

and

2) No Internet at home.(I'm looking at you, PLDT.)

I just dropped in to check how's everyone,. Keep healthy and happy, folks.

Oh, and It's my birthday this Sunday. So Yay!

Thank you everyone for the love, support, and for just being plain awesome. Have some chocolate cake on me. :)

Hey Mr. Taxi Driver

[Caveat: Gentle readers and friends alike, this is a potentially angry-ranty post. If reading about non-belief is not your thing, I'm cool with that. There are other fine non-charged posts on this blog which I'm sure you'll enjoy. but if you do decide to stay and read, please remember this is me being human below... and that I thank you for choosing to sit this out with me.]

I will say it now, and have it be over and done with.

Mr. Taxi Driver, I like you. You’re a pretty cool dude, I appreciate your great command of English, and that you’re quite the charmer.

But please please please, for the love of rapport and all that is swag about the common commute, do not cry over the fact that I am an atheist.

Most specially not in front of me.

Brown eggs make me happy.

Hi, everyone. I have so many stories to tell and so many blog posts to write about them, but I'll make this real quick -- I'm craving for chicken, and James and I need to catch up on our geeky couple viewing schedule.

  • Recipe posts due: Homemade French Onion Soup on a budget, and Vegetable Crumble in Creamy and Stir-Fry versions.
  • I've been going on a vegetables-and-fruit binge lately. The above two recipes are rather telling. Plus, I find myself never going for a day without at least one or two pieces of fruit. Current poison of choice: ponkan oranges and sweet pineapple slices.
  • James and I have been currently enjoying Game of Thrones, Gundam OO (yes, that's Double Oh), and Gundam Unicorn. We caught the GoT bug just recently, and good grief, why didn't we sooner?! As for Gundam OO, James never said it better -- "It's essentially Leo Tolstoy's War ad Peace, in space, with mecha." What I found gripping about the series thus far is how close it actually hits to home in terms of present day politics and world events. When the first scenes of the first episode depicts an Afghan conflict and it feels real, among other circumstances, you sit up and pay attention. Or at least, I did.
  • I am now a redhead. I'll be writing about dying my hair by myself with Revlon Colorsilk Luminista in due time.
So, there. Right, chicken.

Life is fragile

Hi, everyone. It's good to be back.

It's funny how it'll take almost an entire shift of doing nothing just to prepare just to write about what made your past few weeks so far.

Alas, I am also starting to get rather sleepy.

To be honest, we still don't have our Internet up and running at home right now, and best James and I can do for now is to simply enjoy what we have on both our hard drives as we slowly plot our next steps to getting back online.

The past month has been a month of kindness. Kindness, for me, came in the form of:

  • Tremendously sweet surprise goodbye notes from colleagues you had no idea would have you on their radar.
  • Another good colleague of mine sharing his written masterpiece with me, and threshing out ideas and approaches to his story. His work and the stoutness of his heart has lit a fire under me, and makes me want to revisit my writing.
  • An old writer-friend who has made a name for himself in the arena and who I greatly admire wishing me well and hoping I keep writing.
  • A great girlfriend and sewing buddy encouraging me to just keep pursuing and polishing whatever craft or art Life is pushing me toward right now -- all my other interests, she says, will not be jealous, never be jealous.
  • A loving man who wants to spend time with me more than anything.
I'll keep these thoughts and glow for a while over here. I'm a sleepy, happy woman, and I can't wait to head home and cuddle up to my man over the weekend. Life is fragile, but lovely.

Dusty dusty

Poor blog, I've missed you.

Home life has been nothing short of ...happy. Happy. Hectic and crazy and all-day-plan-y, but overall very happy. (and not a photo to show of it for now. Sorry, guys.)

Instead here's a lovely art installation from the talented Jin, China, Kat, Sandra and Miguel:

Always name names when possible, specially when they make lovely things.

From the Facebook Wall of a good friend of mine --

"You feel the love of a woman through the food she cooks for you. Some food says, 'Take care' others may say 'Stay strong' but there are those rare times when they say 'Hurry home to me.'

In my mind, it seems that our days are now measured and charted in three ways -- the anime shows we watch, the DOTA and Magic: The Gathering matches we play, and food.

Oh, food. Good, home-cooked food.
