Dusty dusty

Poor blog, I've missed you.

Home life has been nothing short of ...happy. Happy. Hectic and crazy and all-day-plan-y, but overall very happy. (and not a photo to show of it for now. Sorry, guys.)

Instead here's a lovely art installation from the talented Jin, China, Kat, Sandra and Miguel:

Always name names when possible, specially when they make lovely things.

From the Facebook Wall of a good friend of mine --

"You feel the love of a woman through the food she cooks for you. Some food says, 'Take care' others may say 'Stay strong' but there are those rare times when they say 'Hurry home to me.'

In my mind, it seems that our days are now measured and charted in three ways -- the anime shows we watch, the DOTA and Magic: The Gathering matches we play, and food.

Oh, food. Good, home-cooked food.

A week at a time

Week 1 at the new apartment has gone, and we 're taking it a day at a time for Week 2. I'm happy to say the kitchen, pantry, refrigerator, and kitchen station look pretty decent and ready for some hardcore homemaking.

Yep, that kitchen station right beside the fridge.

The table and computer section still need a lot of work, but all in good time.

You'll see what a mess the apartment's been -- and still is --, but I love how the light bathes everything in this warm, cozy, golden glow. The room is happy.

Mink looks quite settled on the three-inch window ledge. Just don't grab at her, or make any sudden movements around her.

Dear friends,

It's been over a month since you've last heard from me. Thank you for sticking around so long. It's been a month, but it feels like more.

A month, indeed. A month with a lot of changes and stepping-up to do, and here we are.

A quick hello from Donsol

Hello!

Mik and I say Hi all the way from, uh... Rainy, cold Donsol. It's Signal #2 now, and most of our travel group are keeping our fingers crossed for the storm to lift. The sooner Storm Bebeng lifts, the sooner we can enjoy swimming with Whale Sharks.

Wish us luck, guys! I'll do my best to take pictures.

Bertrand Russell on the clarity of thinking.

I should like to say two things, one intellectual and one moral. The intellectual thing I should want to say is this: When you are studying any matter, or considering any philosophy, ask yourself only what are the facts and what is the truth that the facts bear out. Never let yourself be diverted either by what you wish to believe, or by what you think would have beneficent social effects if it were believed. But look only, and solely, at what are the facts. That is the intellectual thing that I should wish to say.

The moral thing I should wish to say to them is very simple.  I should say love is wise, hatred is foolish. In this world which is getting more closely and closely interconnected we have to learn to tolerate each other, we have to learn to put up with the fact that some people say things that we don’t like.

We can only live together in that way and if we are to live together and not die together, we must learn a kind of charity and a kind of tolerance which is absolutely vital to the continuation of human life on this planet.
