Bohol on my mind

This year, I will make big things happen for me.

It all started with a whim and wishful thinking. A trip to Baguio? Why not? It's been quite a while since I've been up north. There was not much rhyme and reason to it, save for the thought that James' trainer had a good nose for ukay-ukay shops (or ridiculously low-priced thrift stores), and could  point us in the right direction.

That, and crisp mountain air, strawberries, and chocolate-covered cornflakes from Good Shepherd Convent. You can never go wrong with treats from Good Shepherd.

But that was on a whim, and whims born from very little time, money, and foresight make for poor thought fodder.

So, a friend of mine recommended, why not Bohol?

Indeed, why not?

I'd wanted to explore Bohol for a very long time. I guess you might say this plan had to take a backseat to Life in general over the past few years. I fell in love with the idea of Bohol a long, long time ago, forgot about it, then remembered it again.

It's something of wish fulfillment for me, and it will certainly to feel good to have something big and exciting to work toward again.

So, yes. I am going to take a trip to Bohol for my birthday this year.

The trip will most likely set me back by P10k to P15k, and that's almost three-fourths what I paid for my dining set. (For short, it certainly is a lot of money.)  This is going to require a bit more discipline, saving skills and money management on my part, but I certainly think it's doable. It's very doable.

Money's been a little tight this start of the year, but I know I'll find ways. Before next week is over, I aim to be able to put my first contribution to the Travel Fund. Heck, I just might do it now, but I have to make sure I have enough to pay for my bills and other living expenses first.

Well, here goes.

  2. Ah! That's right, and thanks for the suggestion. Sabagay, Cebu is just a few hours away from Bohol, right? That's something we'd consider too. You're going to have help me out with deciding the places to go to and what to do in Cebu, though. :)

  3. Wow, I do hope you get to travel for your birthday! I went to Coron for my birthday a few weeks ago, and it was certainly one of the best travels I've had so far. It's definitely paradise on earth. I had a hard time leaving the place without shedding a tear!

Also, that's a good idea, raising travel funds! I'll start one too for my next travels! :)

  4. Thanks, Yoj! Your write-up on Vigan was actually one of my inspirations to go after my travel dreams. :)

Oh! I see you have a new blog. Don't mind if I update my blogroll with you in it. :)
